Netflix continues to bet on the “Wednesday” phenomenon, and now the series takes an international leap. This Monday, the platform published the first image of the third season, starring Jenna Ortega, and everything indicates that the Addams daughter will cross the Atlantic to settle temporarily in Paris.
In the photograph, spread through social networks, Wednesday Addams is seen standing next to a motorcycle, with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Accompanying her, as it could not be otherwise than the colorful hand that has earned the affection of the fans.
The image shows Wednesday holding a paper in her hands and looking into the distance with her trademark deadpan expression. “From Paris, with fear” reads the disturbing caption.
What would the third season be about?
The second season concluded with Wednesday and Thing fleeing in the sidecar of Uncle Fester’s (Fred Armisen) motorcycle in search of Enid (Emma Myers), their friend and roommate.
The young wolf was trapped in her werewolf form and escaped into the desert. Although Netflix has not officially revealed the details of the plot of the new installment, everything seems to indicate that this chase will be the reason that takes Wednesday to the French capital.
Production on the third season started in February and confirmed a high-caliber cast. New signings include Eva Inexperienced as Aunt Ophelia, as well as Winona Ryder, Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, James Lance, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan and Kennedy Moyer, in roles not yet revealed.
Returning alongside Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Fred Armisen and Victor Dorobantu are Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Joanna Lumley.
A creative guarantee team
The series, based on the iconic characters created by Charles Addams, continues to be led by showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, with Tim Burton directing. The three also serve as executive producers, while MGM TV is in charge of the studio.
