The United States Army confirmed the death of three people in an attack against a boat allegedly used for drug trafficking in the Caribbean.

The controversial US military campaign in the Caribbean and the Pacific leaves at least 180 dead.

President Donald Trump’s administration insists that, in practice, is at war with what it calls “narcoterrorists” in Latin Americaand since last September it began attacking vessels allegedly used for drug trafficking.

The US Southern Command, responsible for Washington’s forces in the region, said it carried out a “lethal kinetic attack against a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations.”

Intelligence confirmed that the vessel was transiting known drug trafficking routes in the Caribbean and was involved in drug trafficking operations. Three narcoterrorist men died during this action,” he noted in a submit on X.

Six similar attacks in April

US authorities have reported at least six such attacks in April, bringing the total number of people killed in these operations to around 180, according to an AFP tally.

The administration Trump has not provided definitive evidence that the attacked vessels were involved in drug trafficking.

International legal experts and rights groups warn that the attacks could constitute extrajudicial executions, as they appear to have targeted civilians who pose no immediate threat to the United States.
