The Iranian Martyrs Foundation reported at least 3,468 dead in the almost six weeks of war against the United States and Israel.
“A file was opened for 3,468 martyrs who fell during the recent conflict,” declared the director of the foundation, Ahmad Mousavi, quoted by the ISNA news agency.
A previous report released on April 12 by the Upright Medicine Organization of Iran It reported 3,375 deaths.
A fragile two-week ceasefire has been in force since April 8, which in theory expires next Wednesday.
After a failed first round of negotiations in Pakistan, diplomatic maneuvers for a lasting peace between Iran and the United States continue.
For its part, The NGO Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), based in the United States, counted at least 3,636 deaths as of April 7.
Of them, 1,701 were civilians (including at least 254 children) and 1,221 were military. The status of the other 714 victims was not specified.
Due to restrictions imposed on the media, the AFP agency was not able to independently verify these balances.
In addition to the more than 3,000 Iranian deaths, the fighting has killed almost 2,300 people in Lebanon23 in Israel and more than a dozen in the Arab Gulf States. 13 US military personnel have also died.
