DJI has just officially launched the Osmo Pocket 4and the truth is that this little camera has everything you need to steal your heart if you are a content creator, a traveler, or simply someone who wants to record cinema-quality moments without carrying a huge equipment.

DJI’s proposal is a three-axis mechanical gimbal camera that literally fits in your pants pocketbut you can now record video in 4K at 240 frames per second. Yes, you read that right. A pocket camera recording gradual movement in full 4K resolution. That’s something that even the most advanced smartphones can’t do today.

Technical specifications that matter in everyday life

Before we get into the numbers, the important thing is to understand what each specification means when you’re shooting in life steady. The heart of the team is a 1 inch stacked CMOS sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 20 mm equivalent focal length, which translates into much sharper images in low light, whether in a restaurant with dim lights or in a sunset with pronounced shadows.

Standard recording reaches 4K at 60 fps horizontally and 3K at 60 fps verticallyperfect for those who make content for social networks in portrait format. But the big headline here is the slow motion mode: 4K at 240fpsdoubling the capacity of the Osmo Pocket 3 which remained at 120 fps. In practice, this means you can capture a wave crashing, your pet running or even raindrops falling, all in gradual movement with spectacular resolution and without sacrificing detail.

For those editing in post-production, the Pocket 4 records in 10-bit D-Log profile with 14 stops of dynamic range. This means you get video files with much more room to adjust colors, highlights and shadows in editing, something you previously only saw on thousand-dollar cinema cameras. The maximum bitrate is 180 Mbps in MP4 (HEVC) formatguaranteeing high quality files without taking up absurd space.

In the photography section, the Pocket 4 captures images of 37 megapixelsa huge jump compared to the 9.4 MP of the previous model. And if you need to zoom, count on 2x lossless zoomwhich means getting closer without losing quality.

Storage also improved significantly. The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has 107 GB of internal memory at 800 MB/senough for more than two hours of 4K video at 30 fps without needing a microSD card (although it also accepts cards up to 1 TB). And the 1,545 mAh battery holds up up to 240 minutes recording in 1080p or around 135 minutes in 4Kwith fast charging to 80% in just 18 minutes.

The tracking system ActiveTrack 7.0 keeps the subject always in frame automatically, and the 4-channel Osmo Audio —compatible with the DJI Mic 3 and DJI Mic 2—allows you to record audio from two wireless transmitters simultaneously in addition to the internal stereo microphone. For vloggers and interviewers, that is pure gold.xataka+1

The dimensions are also surprising: 144.2 × 44.4 × 33.5 mm and just 190.5 grams. It is not a gadget that you will notice in your pocket.

Availability and price in the United States

Here comes the part that most interests users in the United States. The good news is that, unlike some DJI drones that have had regulatory issues, the Osmo Pocket 4 is a camera and is not subject to FCC Covered Checklist restrictions. This means that it should be officially available through normal sales channels in the country.

DJI reported that the available price of the standard model will be 499 euros, about $590 dollars approximatelyand the Creator Combo—which includes additional accessories like audio transmitters and a case—could be around $649 to $749 dollars. Shops like Amazon, B&H Photo and Solely Purchase They are the main channels expected for its sale.

It should be noted that although DJI has not officially published the Pocket 4 on its United States website, the camera obtained the FCC ID: 2ANDR-OP041 before the regulatory cutoff of December 2025, so its arrival in the US market through authorized third parties is completely viable.

This camera isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. It is designed specifically for a very specific type of user. If you identify with any of the following profiles, you should definitely have her on your list:

  • Vloggers and content creators that need professional stabilization without carrying an external gimbal and a separate camera
  • Travelers and backpackers who want high image quality without sacrificing space or weight in their luggage
  • Vertical Content Creators for networks like TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts, thanks to the vertical 3K mode at 60 fps
  • Semi-pro professionals looking for a compact B-roll camera to complement their valuable setup
  • Athletes and starting up air enthusiasts who want to capture action with gradual movement steady in 4K

However, if you already have the Osmo Pocket 3the decision is not so obvious. The improvements are real, especially the jump to 240 fps, the 37 MP in photos and the internal storage of 107 GB, but they are rather incremental in terms of design and form. If you come from an older camera or from using only the smartphone, the jump is going to be enormous and you will notice it in every video you record.

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 represents the most ambitious evolution that this product line has had, packaging technology previously only found in professional cinema cameras into a device that literally fits in any pocket.
