The conservative Tommy Tubervillesenator from Alabama, criticized his party for not taking advantage of its majority in Congress to promote projects for the benefit of those who vote during each electoral process.

In an intervention on Benny Johnson’s podcast, the former American football coach He stated that Republicans have achieved “nothing” despite dominating both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

“Everything that happens up here… is about, ‘Oh, we have to get re-elected. We have to keep the majority.’ Well, hell, we haven’t done anything with most of them. “Why should she, why should we, maintain the majority?” he questioned.

Immediately afterwards, the Arkansas politician referred to how, so far in the current federal administration, his party co-religionists have only carried out one project and this due to the pressure exerted by the nation’s leader, which he finds regrettable.

“We have managed to get a bill passed, and it was thanks to the insistence of President Trump, who took us 18 hours to get Republicans to vote for 18 hours straight on the Senate floor,” he emphasized.

Republican work in Congress has been limited to passing the “One Gigantic Magnificent Invoice” Act and First Lady Melania Trump’s “Seize It Down” Act.

What is controversial is that the projected disunity among conservatives also slows down, among other things, the approval of a partial financing package aimed at the Department of Homeland Security.

“It’s shameful that we’re up here and we’re… raising money to… continue… with the same people up here. It’s nonsense. It’s real nonsense,” he mentioned.

Tommy Tuberville’s comments join those of other Republicans warning that their parsimony in assimilating the needs of citizens and working to solve them could mean a serious setback in the midterm elections to be held in November.

It should be noted that Democrats need to regain four seats to secure the majority in the Senate; while, in the House of Representatives, the Democrats could also take control of them if they manage to get 218 seats.
