The Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth He starred in a mysterious episode during a religious service at the Pentagon when he uttered a quote that he attributes to the Bible but that coincides with a scene from “Pulp Fiction,” the famous Quentin Tarantino film.
“The path of the fallen aviator is littered on every side with the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed be he who, in the name of fellowship and duty, guides the lost through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the one who finds lost children,” he said at a religious event on Wednesday.
“And cI will strike with great vengeance and fury to those who try to capture and destroy my brother. And you will know that my callsign is Sandy One when I unleash my vengeance on you, and amen,” he added.
The Secretary of War stated that It is about the prayer “CSAR 25:17” according to him, inspired by “Ezekiel 25:17.” He said he learned it from the person responsible for the rescue operation of two members of the Air Force in Iran.
However, in those Bible verses only part of the quote appears: “And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they will know that I am Jehovah, when I take my vengeance upon them.”
In fact, Hegseth’s words include “My callsign is Sandy One.”which is part of a famous scene from ‘Pulp Fiction’ (1994) in which the character played by Samuel L. Jackson pronounces a text practically identical to the one spoken at the Pentagon by the Secretary of War.
Tarantino’s film made a reinterpretation of Ezekiel 25:17.
The reactions to Hegseth’s intervention were immediate and many users of X and other social networks showed their surprise at the coincidence between the words of the member of Donald Trump’s Administration and Tarantino’s character.
Religious references have become a constant in the interventions of the Secretary of War who, in a press conference this Thursday, He once again resorted to a biblical reference to question the media and journalists, whom he called “Pharisees.”
“Last Sunday, I was sitting in church with my family, and our minister preached from the book of Mark, chapter three. And in that passage, Jesus went into a synagogue,” and he continued, “sitting there in church, I thought: our press is exactly the same as these Pharisees —not all of you, not all—; but the traditional press, the one that hates Trump.”
Democrats have filed an impeachment trial against him in Congress, accusing him of war crimes related to the Iran warabuse of power and poor management, although it will not prosper due to the Republican majority in Congress.
