More than $700 million annually enters the California economy thanks to internationally famous music festivals such as Coachella and Stagecoachwhich together achieve a positive impact on the state and regional coffers, highlighted Governor Gavin Newsom.
In a statement, Newsom said that California is a national benchmark as a world center of creativity and cultureand its live events industry plays a key role in driving economic growth and job creation across the state.
“Events like Coachella and Stagecoach not only showcase incredible talent, but they boost local economies, support small businesses and reinforce California’s position as the entertainment capital of the world,” said Governor Newsom.

music events held in California attract audiences from around the worldwhich leaves an important economic impact on the state.
In 2025, The Coachella competition received nearly 250,000 people for two consecutive weekends.

“This influx of concertgoers fills hotels, supports local services and reinforces California’s identity as a leading destination for arts and culture,” Governor Newsom’s office said in the statement.

“The two festivals, together, also support the regional workforce, generating more than 10,000 temporary jobs in various sectors every yearfrom event production and logistics to hospitality and local services,” the statement added.
In 2026, the Coachella competition will be held on two consecutive weekends: from April 10 to 12 and from April 17 to 19in Riverside County.
The list of artists for this year includes, among others, to Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims, Disclosure, Justin Bieber, The Strokes, David Guetta and Karol G.

Stagecoach 2026, considered one of the nation’s largest music festivalsis scheduled to take place April 24-26 in Indio, California.
Among the artists announced for this year Lainey Wilson, Put up Malone and Cody Johnson stand out.
The 2025 Coachella competition generated an estimated media impact value of $908 million dollarsreflecting its international visibility, its ability to influence global trends and its projection of California’s creative economy globally.
