Mike Johnson, president of the House of Representatives, supports the approach of expelling Democrat Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who is accused of having diverted federal funds to a company created by her stepfather.
Since November of last year, The representative for Florida is accused of having diverted $5,000,000 dollars intended to help citizens during the pandemic.
After analyzing a 59-page violation statement tied to Cherfilus-McCormick, which detailed an alleged campaign finance scheme, The House Ethics Committee determined that 25 of the 27 violations credited to the Democratic representative were proven.
To carry out the fraud, the Democrat used her mother, as well as her stepfather, since between them they created a company that obtained a contract from the state to collaborate in the registration of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Later, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) designated that company $5,000,000 in funds and most of that money ended up being transferred to the Cherfilus-McCormick election campaign, which ended up being discovered.
Although the African-American woman from Brooklyn has denied having committed the rapes with which she is accused, The Ethics Committee scheduled a hearing for April 21 where his sanction will be determined.

In this regard, Mike Johnson pointed out that, given the evidence detected against the congresswoman in question, her expulsion is practically a fact.
“I have always strongly advocated for due process here. I believe that, in the case of Cherfilus-McCormick, the Ethics Committee has followed all its procedures and has found alarming facts. I believe that the facts are indisputable at this point, so I believe that this body will reach a consensus that she should be expelled. That is to say, without a doubt, this justifies the measure,” he indicated during a meeting with some journalists.
For her part, Anna Paulina Luna, representative of Florida, endorsed the position of the president of the House of Representatives.
“We have her expulsion vote ready to be called on the 21st. Either she resigns or she will be expelled. Those are her two options. So the United States is aware: Sheila stole $5 million in FEMA funds,” he emphasized.
If this happens, Democrat Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick will become the seventh representative to be expelled from Congress.
