Tom Homan acknowledged that he disagrees that the Catholic Church interferes in the immigration policy implemented by President Donald Trump.
“I love the Catholic Church. I just wish they would focus on solving the problems of the Church – I know this because I am a member – instead of focusing on politics,” he said. during a casual approach with representatives of the press upon leaving the White House.
The border czar also mentioned that Catholic leaders are unaware of the problems generated by disorderly immigration and invited them to meet with him to explain the issue in detail.
“I wish you would sit with me and listen to my experiences from the last 40 years, and maybe then you would understand why a secure border saves lives, why a secure border is the most humane thing this country can do. I wish they would stay out of immigration because they don’t know what they are talking about,” he emphasized.

The comments by the experienced former police officer come three days after President Donald Trump attacked Pope Leo XIV, considering him a defender of Iran.
“I am not a follower of Pope Leo XIV. He is weak on crime and terrible on foreign policy. I do not want a pope who thinks it is okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon,” he wrote on social networks.
In fact, Even Vice President James David Vance also suggested that the Vatican not interfere in political affairs.especially those managed by the 79-year-old Republican.
“I think that in some cases the best thing would be for the Vatican to limit itself to questions of morality, to what happens in the Catholic Church, and let the president of the United States dedicate himself to dictating American public policy,” he said during an interview with the television network. FoxNews.
The controversial thing about the matter is that some political analysts warn that the tension generated between Washington and the Vatican could impact the results of the midterm elections, where Catholics could exercise a punitive vote against the Republicans, leading them to lose control of Congress.
