On a night that will be marked in the history of Latin music, Karol G starred this Sunday in one of the most powerful moments in the history of the Competition Coachella.

The Colombian artist not only delighted everyone with her successes, but also used his platform to pay a vibrant tribute to Mexican culture and send a message of solidarity to immigrants in the United States.

The highlight of the show came when the sound of reggaeton gave way to trumpets and violins. Accompanied by him Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles —a prestigious female group with more than 30 years of experience—, the “Provenza” interpreter began a segment dedicated to Mexico.

The tribute began with the iconic chords of “El Son de la Negra”, followed by the performance of “That man is bad”, raising the energy of an audience that waved flags from all over Latin America.

The surprise of the night was the appearance of Becky G. Together they performed the hit “MAMIII,” reaffirming the bond between Colombian and Mexican cultures. At the end, the Californian singer launched a proclamation that resonated throughout the Indio Valley: “Long live Mexico, long live Colombia and all our immigrants that we love very much!”

This gesture was not accidental. In a complex political context, Karol G confessed to having received warnings about avoiding political statements to protect your immigration status. However, the artist decided to raise her voice.

“This is not just about me. This is for my Latin community, for my people who have had a bad time lately in this country,” she said, visibly moved.

With this presentation, Karol G not only reaffirmed his status as a global superstar, but also consolidated Coachella as a space where Latin identity and the struggle of immigrants occupy the leading place they deserve.
