How can you participate in the Powerball drawing?
You have to do a combination of five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls. After, a number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball.
If your ticket matches all six numbers, you win the jackpot.
How to get your cash prize?
Prizes must be claimed in the state where the winning ticket was purchased. Players can generally claim a prize of up to $600 dollars at any authorized lottery establishment in the geographic location where the ticket was purchased.
Prizes over $600 can be claimed at the lottery headquarters in each case. There are also some authorized establishments, the address of which must be consulted in advance as appropriate.
You will have 90 days to collect your prize up to one year, depending on the restrictions of the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold. To find out when that time ends, check the back of the ticket. If the expiration date is not listed, you should check with your state lottery.
If you win the Powerball jackpot, you can collect the prize in two possible ways: as an annuity – in 30 payments over 29 years – or as a single global cash payment. For the annuity, each payment increases by 5% each year.
The cash option is the amount of money that is required to be in the jackpot fund on the day of the drawing to fund it.
