Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff, anticipates that President Donald Trump intends to deny foreigners without legal status access to banking services in the United States with the aim of forcing them to leave US territory.
During an interview given to the program “The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Existing”, the official who heads the strategy to carry out the largest deportation in history, referred to some concrete actions that the head of the nation could soon implement.
“President Trump signed an executive order a few weeks ago saying that We are not going to allow undocumented immigrants to use banking services in this country“, he explained.
The New York tycoon’s idea is that, by preventing them from continuing to use their bank accounts and financial services, millions of immigrants will begin to voluntarily leave the country to which they once entered without the necessary documentation to support their stay.
“Undocumented immigrants have credit cards, bank accounts and receive their salaries through direct deposit. Therefore, they participate fully in the commercial and financial systems of the United States. Shutting down those systems is a big driver for deportation.”, he emphasized.
It should be noted that, on May 19, Trump signed an order through which he ordered banks and federal regulators to increase and accelerate the review of accounts and credit applications of immigrants without correct status or work authorization.
Apparently this could be the trigger for the data of many people to be exposed to a second phase of the idea orchestrated by the conservative president, which could consist of ensuring that said information passed into the hands of the immigration authorities.
However, several immigrant defense organizations are making efforts to block the way for the right federal administration.
For now, at least three federal agencies have asked financial institutions to apply greater severity in granting loans to immigrants without proper authorization to work in the United States, something that has never happened.
