Hispanic audiences often come out on top. Two powerful television stations appear daily in front of their viewers with an attractive television menu with which they seek to please the tastes of both. The competition is fierce and success is for both chains: Telemundo and Univision. Of course, there are programs that are the undisputed favorites of the viewing public.
Univision recently shared which menu programs are being favored by its audience, above Telemundo programming. And everything indicates that the program “Voice Game“, hosted by Angélica Vale, and “My hidden truth“, starring Susana González and Omar Chocarro, drove double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo throughout the month.
It is better to emphasize the schedules and broadcast dates of these two productions. Because although both projects are gaining outstanding ratings for Univision, “The House of the Famous 6” on Telemundo has a different schedule; however, a part of the gala broadcast from Monday to Friday does fall within the schedule of Chocarro and González’s telenovela. The same thing happens with the nine o’clock premiere, “Mi rival”, with Sebastián Rulli and Ela Velden.
Regarding schedules, for example, “Juego de Voces” is a program that airs on Sundays on Univision at 8 pm/7 pm, while “My Hidden Truth,” the telenovela, is broadcast Monday through Friday at 8 pm Eastern/7 pm Central.
And “The House of Famous 6”?
In the case of “La Casa de los Famosos 6” they are different. Telemundo’s hit truth airs Monday through Friday and Sunday at 7 pm/6 c. on Telemundo and Peacock. That is, the gala begins at seven at night and ends at 10. Therefore, the second hour of the gala hosted by Javier Poza and Jimena Gállego maintains an acceptable audience, but apparently it is not superior to that of “My hidden truth.”
So what is the rating of “My hidden truth”? According to information from Nielsen, the soap opera was positioned as the drama number one in prime time among US Hispanics.while the premiere of “My rival” also placed Univision as the network number one in the 9 pm slot Monday through Friday during the past month.
So, does the third hour of “La Casa de los Famosos 6” not surpass, for now, the story of Renato and Bárbara? According to reports from Nielsen and Remarkable Records Plus Panel NPM for Univision, that’s right.
Now, Univision’s press release explains that this release is in reference to the month of March. The network reported solid year-over-year growth, with primetime growth of +20% among total viewers and +15% among adults 18–34.
While daytime hours grew by +14% and +41%, respectively. These advances place the network within a select group with the highest audience levels that register year-on-year growth in a competitive environment. In March, TelevisaUnivision captured a 58% share of the Spanish-language television audience among adults 18–49, both in primetime and all day. Here we are talking about “Despierta América” versus “Hoy Día” on Telemundo.
Reflecting…
It should be noted that the rating of “La Casa de los Famosos 6” It started with problems, and the first two months of the program have been chaotic in terms of content. The production strategy to reduce the rates of violence in the program has generated widespread disappointment among viewers, given that the authority to decide falls on ‘La Jefa’, that is, in the production of the truth.
On the other hand, it is also confusing that the hosts of the program continue talking and reflecting on the participants’ game, ignoring the work of the fandoms, when level to has already been on the air for six seasons.
“Ignorance” is valid during the first and perhaps part of the second season. But with six editions under its belt, we all know that the majority of the truth audience knows what level to is about.
