Steven Spielberg’s latest venture is now in theaters! The sci-fi thriller “Disclosure Day” premiered on Friday and quickly rose to number one on the US national charts.

The film, starring Emily Blunt, It grossed $19 million in its opening day alone, rolling out in 3,824 North American theaters, according to Box Space of business Mojo. According to industry projections, the film is expected to gross about $44 million by the end of this weekend, Vary said.

However, the path to profitability will not be easy. Stylish Photos spent $115 million on the production of this thriller, which forces the feature film to remain in theaters for several weeks to recover the investment.

Fortunately, for the studio Spielberg has an almost impeccable track record in this area. You just have to remember “The War of the Worlds” (2005), which opened with $64 million against a budget of $132 millionand ended its journey with 603 million worldwide.

More recently, “Willing Participant One” (2018) debuted to $41 million at home (versus $175 million at cost) and managed to climb to $607 million worldwide. “Disclosure Day” aspires to follow an analogous trajectory, according to film specialists.

What is the tape about?

At the center of the intrigue is Margaret Fairchild, a meteorologist played by Emily Blunt, who finds herself embroiled in a scheme to uncover a massive government cover-up about the existence of extraterrestrial life.

The ensemble cast includes names such as Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo and Wyatt Russell. The first reactions highlight the atmosphere of growing tension and the director’s unmistakable seal in the construction of suspense.
