They identify the perpetrator of a shooting in Texas that left one dead and 10 injured before being killed

Authorities in Texas identified Victor Mata Villarealfrom Forty five years, as the perpetrator of a shooting that left one dead and ten injured this Friday in Midland.

The man was killed during an exchange of gunfire with local police, after barricading himself in a veterinary clinic for several hours, according to the Texas Department of Safety and Security in a statement.

Villarreal, who lived in Odessa, technology already wanted for the murder of a police officer after shooting at officers during a traffic stop Wednesday night, and had been on the run since then.

Authorities also identified the victim of the mass shooting. It is about Ed Scotta municipal employee who was “very involved in the community, playing a leading role in local and regional softball organizations,” according to a statement.

“Behind every employee badge is a husband or wife, a mother or father, a son or daughter, a friend, a teammate and a person whose life impacted countless people. Today, a family suffers a loss that words cannot adequately describe, and our hearts go out to them,” officials added.

Police have provided limited details about how the shooting unfolded.. Officers arrived at the scene after receiving reports of an active shooter, and Mata Villarreal began shooting at them, Midland Police Chief Greg Snow said.

Several officers were trapped behind their patrol cars and had to be rescued by an armored vehicle, Snow added, but no officers were injured.
