Customization continues to gain ground among SUV buyers in the United States and Ford wants to take advantage of that trend. That is why it decided to launch a new configuration for the 2027 Explorer ST that seeks to respond directly to the tastes of those who prefer a more sporty and exclusive appearance.

Under the name Nasty, The brand incorporates a series of aesthetic details that transform the presence of the model without modifying its essence. The proposal is inspired by the modifications that many owners usually make on their own, although now they are supported directly by the factory.

The concept is simple, keeping the Explorer ST’s capabilities intact, but offering a much more striking image for those looking to stand out on the road.
A fan-inspired aesthetic
The new package goes for a blacked-out look that has become especially popular in the US market. The glossy black details take center stage and reinforce the sporty character of this three-row SUV.
Among the new features are 21-inch wheels with a black finish, exclusive ST badges with darkened treatment and amber daytime running lights that provide a differentiated visual identity. These are changes that do not alter the structure of the vehicle, but they do generate a much more aggressive image.
Ford will also allow the package to be combined with any of the colors available for the Explorer ST, expanding the customization possibilities for each customer.
Performance continues to be the protagonist
Although the new features are mainly focused on the design, the mechanics remain unchanged. The 2027 Explorer Nasty ST retains the well-known 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine that develops 385 horsepower.
That engine continues to position the Explorer ST as one of the most powerful family SUVs in its category. Added to this is a sports suspension tuned to offer a more dynamic response and more precise handling.
The result is an unusual combination in the segment. On the one hand, it offers enough space to transport up to seven passengers and, on the other, it maintains a behavior that seeks to generate sensations close to those of a sporty vehicle.

Ford wants owners to realize its full potential
Along with this update, the company confirmed the return of the Explorer ST Experience. This is a driving program designed to help owners better understand the dynamic capabilities of their vehicles.
Buyers of the 2026 and 2027 Explorer ST models will receive access to a full day of training with specialized instructors. The initiative will tour different cities in the United States starting in the fall of 2026.
According to Ford, the goal is to allow drivers to experience in a controlled environment the work done by the engineers who developed the ST line.

How much does the Nasty package cost?
The Explorer ST is priced above $50,000 dollars in the US market. For those who want to add this new appearance, the Nasty package will have an additional cost of $1,695 dollars.
The figure is competitive within the universe of accessories and customizations offered by manufacturers. In addition, it confirms that Ford is paying attention to the trends that arise among the users themselves, especially those related to darkened finishes, black wheels and a more sporty aesthetic.
