One day before the start of the 2026 World Cup in the city, Metro Los Angeles officials announced this Thursday the collaboration of some 2,000 employees of the public transportation agency that will provide assistance to passengers using the service during the World Cup.

Workers will be deployed in Los Angeles County to assist people, especially visitors, who use public transportation for their transfersprimarily to and from Los Angeles Stadium, known as SoFi Stadium, in Inglewood.

According to Metro, some 2,000 employees will leave their usual office jobs during the World Cup. to reinforce the work of bus operators, Metro ambassadorspublic transportation security non-public and other front-line employees.

It is planned that collaborators will be located throughout the public transportation system to assist visitors heading to matches, fan zones and other events related to the World Cup tournament.

Metro officials mentioned that employees of the “Values ​​in Practice” program are included of the agency.

It is planned to deploy specially trained operators assigned to the World Cup bus service connecting SoFi Stadium to more than 15 stations and locations in Los Angeles and Orange counties.

Metro ambassadors have the task of guide travelers during game days in Los Angeleswhile TAP’s non-public will help passengers buy transportation cards and use the vending machines installed at the stations.

Employees assigned to Customer Service will be available at selected stations to help users plan their trips and recover lost items.
