Meta announced an investment of $115 million dollars to train workers free of charge in skilled trades, with the promise of guaranteeing them a job upon completion of the program. The initiative seeks to address the growing labor demand generated by the expansion of data centers linked to the rise of artificial intelligence.
The parent company of Facebook and Instagram presented the The USA’s Team Academya training program aimed at veterans, recent graduates, people interested in changing careers, and anyone aspiring to enter the skilled trades, with no prior experience required.
The project will start this year with pilot locations in Indiana, Louisiana, Ohio and Texasstates where Meta plans to promote the training of workers who will later participate in the construction of technological infrastructure.
Meta will finance all training expenses
According to the company, the program will last five weeks and it will be completely free for participants. Meta will cover tuition, flights, accommodation and a daily allowance during the training period.
Upon completion of the course, graduates will receive an industry-recognized certification in areas with high job demand, including:

- Welding
- Fiber optic installation
