A man was found dead inside an apartment in the Bronx, New York, after construction workers reported a strong odor coming from the home.
The NYPD responded on Wednesday to a 911 call made around 1:20 p.m. at a building on Longview Avenue in the Bronx.
According to preliminary information cited by the Contemporary York Post, workers carrying out renovation work on the property They detected a strong odor coming from one of the apartments and they notified the situation.
Upon entering the home, officers found the body of an adult man.
The victim had a stab wound
The authorities indicated that The deceased had a puncture wound to the chest.
The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, which suggests that death had occurred several days before the discovery.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and confirmed death at the scene.
Subsequently, investigators and specialized teams carried out evidence processing work inside the property while the body was removed for forensic examination.
So far, the identity of the victim has not been officially released.
No arrests have been announced in connection with the case.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the death and hope that the results of the autopsy will help more accurately determine the time and causes of death.
