Almost three months after shooting that occurred at the residence he shares with Rihanna In Beverly Hills, the rapper A$AP Rocky spoke for the first time about the deep emotional impact the incident had on his family.
In an exclusive interview with VIBE magazine, the musician described the episode as a traumatic experience which drastically altered the security of their home.
The attack took place on March 8, when A woman identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz opened fire on the property using an AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle.
In that moment, at least ten people were at the scene and in the potential line of fireincluding Rihanna, Rocky, her three young children, the singer’s mother and domestic employees. Although fortunately no one was injured, the psychological consequences persist.
“It was very screwed up,” the interpreter confessed. “Someone tried to harm me and my family. The incident took away a lot of peace and happiness from us. of being able to simply be free,” lamented the rapper.
For their part, sources close to Rihanna assured that The singer heard the detonations and was deeply upset and confused by the attack, questioning how something like this could happen despite having a robust security team.
The judicial process against the alleged attacker continues. Ortiz remains detained under a bail of 1.875 million dollars after pleading not guilty to one count of attempted murder, ten counts of assault with a firearm and three of shooting into an inhabited dwelling. If convicted, she could face life in prison.
