After the success of his most recent album, “The Lifetime of a Showgirl”, Taylor Swift officially announced the release of a new fashioned song titled “I Knew It, I Knew You”composed especially for the Disney and Pixar film, “Toy Story 5”whose theatrical release is scheduled for June 19.
Through their social networks, The American singer confirmed the news, which her followers already suspected. “I have always dreamed of writing for these characters that I adore since I was 5 years old and saw the first Toy Story movie. I instantly fell in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it. in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening,” the artist wrote.
Written and produced jointly by Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff, The single will be available on all streaming and music sales platforms starting Friday, June 5.
Likewise, the pre-sale of three exclusive editions in CD format began today on the singer’s official website, which will include the fashioned version of the film, one acoustic and another on piano.
Inspired by the evolution of the cowgirl Jessie, a character who joined the franchise in “Toy Story 2”, The piece marks Swift’s long-awaited return to her country music roots.fusing the styles that have defined his award-winning career.
The film’s director and screenwriter, Andrew Stanton, praised the singer-songwriter’s deep connection with the character: “The immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable. Hearing it for the first time, you instantly felt like you had always belonged there.”
The reveal of the collaboration was preceded by a clever advertising campaign with billboards under the acronym “TS” distributed in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Mexico City and London.
Directed by Stanton, this fifth installment will put Woody, Buzz and Jessie face to face with the technology of Lilypad, an electronic tablet that will test the meaning of Bonnie’s traditional game.
