The first hours of the temporary truce in the Middle East have begun with reports of violations and different interpretations about whether or not Lebanon is included in the ceasefire.

Lebanon accused Israel on Wednesday of having caused dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries with its most intense bombing since the beginning of the war against the pro-Iranian group Hezbollah.

According to the Lebanese Emergency Operations Center, under the Ministry of Public Health, at least 254 people were killed and another 1,165 were injured in different areas of Lebanon, where Israel claims to have hit more than one hundred targets in a period of just ten minutes.

The attacks took place despite a two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintains that the truce in Iran excludes fighting against Hezbollah.

Guardians of the Revolution threaten to respond

For its part, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned Wednesday that they could respond if Israel does not stop bombing Lebanon.

“We send a strong warning to the United States, which violates treaties, and to its Zionist ally, its executor: if the aggression against beloved Lebanon does not stop immediately, we will do our duty and give a response,” declared the Guardians of the Revolution in a statement released on public television, in which it referred to Israel.
