Worker crews progress was made in the repair and cleaning caused by the leak of an oil pipeline which occurred early Friday, May 22 in East Los Angeles.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife reported that Oil containment barriers were installed at different points of the Los Angeles River after the hydrocarbon reached the southern end, near the Pacific Coast Highway bridge.
The pipeline, through which thousands of gallons of crude oil are shipped, suffered a puncture near the intersection of East César Chávez Avenue and North Japanese Avenue shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Friday.
