American actor Shia LaBeouf39 years old, was indicted on three counts of simple assault by the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office.after a physical altercation that occurred last February during the Mardi Gras celebrations.
According to Other folksthe charges, classified as misdemeanors, arise after a formal investigation into incidents reported at the R Bar establishmentlocated in the 1400 block of Royal Boulevard, in the Marigny neighborhood.
According to police reports from New Orleans authorities (NOPD), Officers responded to the scene at approximately 1:00 am on February 17. (Shrove Tuesday), responding to emergency calls about a violent customer.
Court records indicate that The employees of the store tried to expel the “Transformers” star due to his hostile behavior. However, the actor responded with excessive aggressiveness, lashing out at several people present.
Eyewitnesses detailed that LaBeouf punched several peopleseverely injuring one of the clients’ face, to the point of causing a possible dislocation of his nose. Given the lack of control, a group of citizens had to physically hold the interpreter on the ground until the patrol arrived.
After the incident, LaBeouf was transferred to a local sanatorium and later booked into prison.. He was released provisionally after paying bail of $100,000. However, the conditions of his release dictate a strict rehabilitation process, periodic alcohol and drug testing, and restraining orders in place for both the affected bar and the assaulted victims.
The actor, who resides in the residential area of New Orleans, is still awaiting judicial determination on the final sentences he will face.
